Bill Commons of Indianapolis passed away on March 22 at the age of 76. He was the son of Joseph and Florence Commons and brother of Patricia, Thomas, Stephen and Linda. Bill attended St. Philip Neri grade school, Scecina Memorial High School, and Marian College.
He worked at a number of jobs, initially as an accountant and later at FedEx, but the job that gave him the greatest satisfaction was doing machinery work at a company he co-owned with a childhood friend.
Being of Irish decent on his father’s side, he had a special love of the Irish culture. He was a big Notre Dame football fan and watched many of their games at the Golden Ace Inn, a popular Irish bar. He was an avid golfer, followed both the Colts and Pacers, and was a big Indy Car fan.
Bill was known in his family for his talent in grilling and cooking and hosting the annual Commons Family Christmas Eve party for decades. He is survived by his brother Tom and niece Kara Commons Long
