Passing of John Joseph (J.J.) O’Brien
John Joseph (J.J.) O’Brien, entered into eternal life on May 4th, 2024. Born January 11th, 1938, the only son of Nell Delaney O’Brien of Co. Tipperary, Ireland and Andrew O’Brien of Co. Kerry, Ireland. JJ was a 1955 graduate of Cathedral High School, a 1959 graduate of Marian University, a U.S. Navy Veteran, a 1992 retiree from Allison Division, General Motors, Manager of Sales/Marketing. JJ was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Survivors include wife Janice Beck O’Brien; son Sean, daughter-in-law Pamela, granddaughters Eilean and Karen (Harwood, MD); son Patrick, daughter-in-law Shawna, grandson Jack, granddaughter Kelly; daughter Molly O’Brien Funk, son-in-law Anthony Dovilla, grandson Matthew.
Showing will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 5333 East Washington St. Indianapolis, IN, 46219 on May 9th from 3:00pm-7:00pm and 11:00am to noon on May 10th.
Funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 5333 East Washington St. celebrated by Fr. Rick Ginther on May 10th at noon.
Burial at Calvary Cemetery, 435 W Troy Avenue, Indianapolis, 46225. A celebration of life will follow the burial at Bynum’s, 3850 S Meridian Street, Indianapolis, 46217. Family and friends are invited.
