We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Seamus DiGiusto, grandson of our recording secretary, Jim Lynch.
Seamus was our youngest member. He joined the Kevin Barry Division in March of 2020 at the age of 16. It was around this time that Seamus was diagnosed with Grade 3 Anaplastic Actrocytoma. Though the prognosis was grim, Seamus battled over the past year, undergoing multiple surgeries and treatments. He stayed strong to the end, until God called him home.
Obituary
Seamus Christopher DiGiusto, age 17, passed away Friday, March 6 at 3:00pm. He was much beloved by his parents, Julie Kathleen (Lynch) DiGiusto, and Christopher Adam DiGiusto, and by his siblings Keegan Domenic DiGiusto and Brigid Anne DiGiusto.
Seamus attended grade school at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and was currently a student at Scecina Memorial High School. Seamus was an earnest young man who always put others first. This was apparent in the countless ways that he volunteered in his community; as a server for Mass, at St. Vincent DePaul, at Miracle Place, for his parish, and for his school.
Seamus also had a love of music and participated in Scecina’s pep band by playing the trombone and the tuba. He was always interested in a new challenge and participated in many different activities over time, such as Irish Dance, basketball, soccer, football, and track and field. Once he was in high school, his focus centered on band, archery, and photography.
Seamus was much loved by his family, friends and community. He will be greatly missed.
Flowers are welcome, but if donations are preferred, Seamus specified St. Vincent DePaul (www.svdpindy.org), Miracle Place (amiracleplace.org) and Our Lady of Lourdes as recipients.
The funeral Mass Friday will be live streamed @ www.ollindy.org/live.
