The cancellation of our St. Patrick’s Celebration at the Indiana Roof was yet another difficult reality to face in the second year of the pandemic. However, the Kevin Barry Division is determined to continue our traditions in new ways.
Through our Map of Ireland fundraiser, we annually seek to raise $3,000 for a seminarian at St. Meinrad. This fundraiser is at the core of the AOH.
Our printed event program for the St. Patrick's Celebration has contained our “map” for decades. But without an event, there is no printed program. So we reimagined this fundraiser to provide you with the opportunity to support seminarians and add a special keepsake to your home.
In partnership with Beltrame Leffler Advertising, we designed a 18” x 24” print piece, Indiana Families of Ireland, that showcases our local Irish community and commemorates our deceased family members. The map has served as the centerpiece to conversations about family and friends at the St. Patrick's Celebration, now those conversations can continue throughout the year in your home.
The money we raise through Indiana Families of Ireland is used for two purposes:
- The first $3,000 will support a seminarian at St. Meinrad.
- Funds in excess of $3000 will fund donations to local charities throughout the year.
